  5. Privacy Policy: At Marine Corps Concepts and Programs (the “Website” and/or “Application”) we, the Marine Corps (“we”, “us”, “our”), take your privacy very seriously. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we intend to use any information you provide to us through the Website or Application. By using or accessing the Website or Application, you signify your express consent to our Privacy Policy. Moreover, if you do not agree to creating a non-descript account using your email address, you may not enjoy the full functionality of the Website and/or mobile device Application.

  6. Pursuant to [Section 503 of Title 10], United States Code, the information requested on this Website will only be used for enhanced features on our site, such as bookmarks, favorites, or sharing content. Disclosure is voluntary, although declining to provide information will prevent users from accessing these enhanced features.

  7. Protection for Children:

    This Website is not intended for, and we have no intention of collecting personally identifiable information from, children under the age of 13. Any child’s parent or legal guardian should contact us at conceptsandprograms@usmc.mil, if they would like the information submitted by their child deleted from the Website. If you live in a state where consent of a parent or guardian is required if you are under the age of 18, contact us at conceptsandprograms@usmc.mil for proper processing.

  8. Non-Personally Identifiable Information:

    For management of the Website, certain non-personally identifiable pieces of information (“Non-PII Data”) is collected by us, through the standard operation of our web servers and through the use of “cookies” (described more fully below). This Non-PII Data will be used for statistical purposes, including, without limitation, for analytics. This Website uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest to the Website visitors, determining optimal technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas so that we can work on improving such areas of the Website. We only collect an email account to improve and enhance our users’ experience on the Website and application. This information is neither required nor gathered for any other purpose.

  9. For Website security purposes and to ensure that this Website remains available to all users, this Website employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change user information, or otherwise cause damage.

  10. Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Moreover, except as set forth above, raw data logs are used for no other purposes than authorized law enforcement activities, and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration General Schedule 20.

  11. For purposes of evaluating site navigation, non-persistent cookies are used. This site does not use persistent cookies (persistent tokens that pass information back and forth from the client machine to the server).Session cookies (tokens that remain active only until you close your browser) are used in order to make the site easier to use. The user can choose not to accept these cookies, however you will not have the feature of bookmarking content.     Participation in the following Website features: “Feedback Form” and “Contact Us” (collectively, the “Interactive Features”) is completely voluntary. However, in order to utilize some of the services or features offered by the Website and application, including but not limited to, the Interactive Features, you may be asked to provide an email address and a generic user name, i.e., pseudonym, for display purposes. Furthermore, our agents and contractors who have access to your username and email address are required to protect this information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy by not using the information for any purpose other than to carry out the services being performed for the United States Marine Corps.

Please note that we reserve the right to access and/or disseminate your username and email address when required by request of courts or administrative agencies and to the extent required to permit us to investigate: suspected fraud, harassment, or other violations of any law, rule or regulation; this Website’s rules or policies; and/or to investigate any suspected conduct which we deem improper.
