Description:

GCSS-MC/LCM family of systems serves as primary technology enabler for the Marine Corps Logistics Modernization strategy.  GCSS-MC/LCM provides the backbone for all logistics information required by the Marine Forces and the Supporting Establishment.  The core for GCSS-MC/LCM Increment 1 is a modern, commercial-off-the-shelf enterprise resource planning software (Oracle e-Business Suite).  The  Increment  1 design focused on enabling the warfighter to operate while deployed with reach back from the battlefield.   Increment 1 replaced 5 legacy supply and maintenance information technology systems and currently supports ~22,000 users world-wide.  The focus of future functions will be enhancing capabilities in the areas of warehousing, distribution, logistics planning, decision support, depot maintenance, and integration with emerging technologies to improve asset visibility.

Operational Impact:

Marines in combat require a rapid and flexible logistics capability responsive to the 21st century battlefield. GCSS-MC/LCM answers this critical operational imperative. GCSS-MC/LCM introduces cutting edge enabling technology in support of logistics operations by providing a deployable, single point-of-entry for retail logistics transactions, while facilitating modernization of aged logistics processes and procedures.

The key to sustaining deployed logistics operations is the enhancement of asset visibility and supply accountability. Critical performance objectives include reduced logistics response, reduced customer wait time, and decreased dependence on forward positioned stocks. Commanders benefit from GCSS-MC/LCM due to increased Logistics Chain intelligence vital to effective C2 functions.

Marines in supply, maintenance, and distribution are experiencing increased efficiency in planning, accountability, and expedited delivery of supplies and equipment to supported units. GCSS-MC Increment 1 rides on our existing Marine Corps Networks.
